Cure Diabetes is a Canadian charity focused on adults with Type One Diabetes (Juvenile Diabetes) and their families. Cure Diabetes (formerly CDCC), is a dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to raising funds to support two goals.
Firstly, we believe strongly in supporting local research initiatives focused on Diabetes. Through the
OHRI (Ottawa Hospital Research Institute) we have had the pleasure of funding several key research initiatives with Dr. Fraser Scott, Dr. Michael Rudnicki and Dr. Johnathan Smid (within the Sprott Centre for Stem Cell Research).
Secondly, we are very proud of our
Pump Support Program (Kim’s Fund). To date, we have assisted 13 adult Type 1 Diabetics with $12,500 worth of insulin pump supplies to offset the high cost of pump supplies that is not covered by OHIP, third party insurance companies or ADP (Assisted Devices Program through our provincial health program).

We believe strongly in community partnerships. We invite you to check out our Partnerships section to learn more about these exciting ventures!.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters who are equally committed to Making Diabetes History, we have successfully raised nearly $170,000 since we formed in the late summer of 2005.
We are very proud of the fact that virtually all of the money we raise goes directly to the initiatives of Cure Diabetes. We have extremely low administrative costs thanks to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation and our team of volunteers. The generosity of our supporters – both corporate and individual is simply amazing. We are very grateful for this support and we look forward to achieving our short and long-term goals together.
